Description

The Coast Guard is looking for a qualified administrator for the Maritime Surveillance Council's secretariat located in Stockholm.

As an administrator, you will be placed at the Maritime Surveillance Council's secretariat, which is part of the unit for total defense coordination within the department for strategic direction and management support (SIL). SIL is responsible for overall governance at the authority level, and the unit for total defense coordination is responsible for strategic total defense and crisis preparedness issues. One of the Coast Guard's prioritized areas is the development of the authority's maritime surveillance mission, where the Maritime Surveillance Council and its secretariat constitute a central forum.

The Maritime Surveillance Council is a consultative body to assist the Coast Guard regarding the coordination of civil maritime surveillance and the dissemination of maritime information. The council's work aims to improve Sweden's overall capability for effective and purposeful maritime surveillance by disseminating current maritime situation pictures, trends, and tendencies to relevant recipients nationally and internationally, as well as constituting a central contribution to the total defense work. The council consists of the Coast Guard's Director General and members from other authorities that are essential for the mission. The council's activities are organized at strategic, operational, and tactical levels, where the strategic level is responsible for the direction and prioritization of the council's work. At the operational and tactical levels, direction and prioritization are concretized and implemented to increase the overall capability for action. The secretariat provides support to all levels of the Maritime Surveillance Council and initially consists of four people.

Responsibilities

As an administrator at the Maritime Surveillance Council's secretariat, you will participate in the work of developing and driving the council's activities. Your tasks include, among other things, assisting with materials for the council's strategic level, processing incoming information from the operational and tactical levels as needed, and contributing to larger deliveries such as strategies, reports, and other products decided by the council. This may involve collecting, processing, and compiling information about events, trends, and tendencies in the maritime domain. Your tasks also include planning and contributing to the implementation of meetings at the various levels.

The secretariat is under construction, and together with other employees in the secretariat, you will be involved in developing methods, working methods, and tools to develop both the secretariat's and the council's activities. The execution of tasks requires close collaboration with other employees in the secretariat and with employees in other parts of the authority's organization. The tasks also require close cooperation with employees at other authorities involved in the council and may in parts be performed in joint working groups where the secretariat serves as the hub.
